Book 46: How to Kill a Monster
Gretchen and Clark are visiting their grandparents out in the swamp. One day they wake up and both grandparents are missing. They two kill time playing hide and seek and accidentally open a door to discover a giant monster behind it.
While trying to hide they find a letter from their grandparents. They caught the monster and are looking for help to kill it, if the kids let them out then they must kill the monster by themselves. They manage to by getting eaten and finding out the monster is allergic and dies.
Once they leave they open another letter from their grandparents that warns them to never leave the house because the monster’s family is looking for him.
THE BAD: Can we talk about the worst Grandparents in history? They catch a monster, don’t tell the kids and then just leave them alone in the house with it? Also the monster dying because he’s allergic to humans is pretty insane.
THE GOOD: Eh, not too much praise on this one. I was mostly bored by it.
THE TV SHOW EPISODE: I didn’t like the addition Clark being a total dick. That was an unneeded addition. I will say that the look of the monster (and the general effects) are the most impressive in the show’s history (so far).
