31 Movies of Halloween: The Lost Boys

I'm attempting to watch 31 Horror movies this month, for each one I shall post a review. I hope you enjoy!

Vampires are all the rage these days. People complain about us taking the cool out of vampires by making them sex symbols. We’ve been doing that for decades, now pussifying them into glittery beings is what takes the cool out of them. But the 80’s were all about sex symbol vampires; Fright Night and Near Dark are wonderful 80’s twists on the vampire mythos... but the greatest vampire movie of all time will always be THE LOST BOYS

Okay, sure there are horror traditionalists screaming ‘What about Dracula?’ It’s a good movie, and it’s brilliantly shot, but it’s boring! The Lost Boys is a the story of two brothers stuck in the murder capitol of the world. Vampires have taken over the town and it’s up to these two brothers (as well as the weird Frog Brothers) to solve the situation.

When I think 80’s, Lost Boys is the first thing I can think of. Be it bad catch phrases, the coreys or the greased up shirtless Sax Player, there’s nothing that doesn’t scream 1987 in this movie.

If you are watching Twilight and don’t understand why people are so up in arms about how Vampires are depicted these days... do yourself a favor. Get some friends together, order a pizza, get a 12 pack and watch Lost Boys

Hey Guys thanks for reading my blog! Be sure to check out the work I do with Geeekscape.net (here's an article I wrote about movies to watch instead of Real Steel), listen to my podcast The Saint Mort Show and remember my porn site subscriptions aren't going to pay for themselves.
