It took me a long time to get around to watching this film compared to other christmas specials. I immediately fell for it (as most people did). There's so many random moments that crazy families can relate to but it also has the occasionally touching moment … for a few seconds.
The moment that I'll always love involves Clark going up in the attic and watching old home movies from Christmas past. It's a genuinely touching scene that comes to a comedic end when (with the help of his wife) he falls out of the attic.
That scene allow kinda sums up the movies entire tone, it's full of moments from your childhood you kinda remember but once you think it might be slightly sentimental they pull the rug out from under you (or open the attic door).
